Potassium sorbate is not a preservative and won’t extend the shelf life of fudge

Potassium sorbate is actually a mold inhibitor and has been used since the 1950’s to prevent the growth of molds and fungi in dozens of products. We always recommend its use when fudge is being placed in an airtight environment, but it won’t extend the fudge’s shelf life.
